The UK’s independent authority on slip resistance

UK Guidelines

£60.00

A key objective of the UKSRG is the compilation, publication and distribution of guidelines concerning the recommended procedure for the assessment of the slip resistance of flooring materials.

Issue 5 of the Guidelines was published in October 2016 and is available for Download now.

Improvements to Issue 5 include amendments to improve the reliability of the Pendulum slip resistance assessment procedure, including modifications to the slider verification process.

Although each of the popular Pendulum types are essentially equivalent in their operation, separate sections detail the recommended operating procedures for each Pendulum type, and advice is given concerning the selection and specification of floor surface materials.

Description

Recent work investigating the variability of surface roughness measurements was presented at the UKSRG meeting today (6 June 2019). As a result of this presentation the Group advises that anybody wanting to determine slip resistance defers to the pendulum test. Section 7 of the Guidelines is under review.

Following further investigation we will update this advice.
